What Kind of Person?

A good friend of mine (shall remain anonymous) posted this on their Facebook.

I find it strange that people are so blinded by the news and what other people around them think.

Below is my response:

"There is more than one thing wrong with this picture..

‎#1, the Declaration of Independence states that "ALL MEN are created EQUAL". Why should people that have worked hard their whole life to gain their wealth have to pay more than everyone else?

What if white people were forced by the government to pay more taxes just because they are white? What if black people were given a pass by the government to pay less taxes? You being white (obviously) wouldn't be too thrilled about that, would you?

#2, Who is "teaching them to take a cut"? What does that even mean? Nobody "teaches" someone how to take a cut in their pay. A cut in someones pay can be caused by a number of things. Probably the most common now is this thing called "Hyper Inflation".

More and more money is being printed every single day, making each dollar in your pocket worth less and less. If there's more dollars in the world, and it's worth less and less, then companies must charge more for a loaf of bread (or what have you) in order to make money.

The public doesn't like price hikes, and companies are forced to keep their prices rather low, so the next thing they can cut in order to make money is expenses (payroll, etc).

"Why must they keep doing this is there is more mine being printed?" you amy ask. Well, the money that is being printed isn't going to the US public, it's going to pay over-seas debts. it's begin circulated around the world rather than helping the businesses in the US.

#2.1 Another item on that same subject, while yes, sometimes people are forced to take a pay cut, many will simply complain about it, rather than doing something to make their situation better.

One great thing about our country is the ability to engage in free enterprise. You're free as a bird to go start your own business and start making money yourself that way. Sure you'll start out small, and you won't make $50k a year at first, but nobody's gonna stop you. Even those "evil big corporations" that gave you your old job started out small at one point.

Same thing with those millionaires we talked about earlier. Do you think they were just born millionaires? Some perhaps, but 99.99% of them started out small and worked their way to the top.

Businesses aren't evil as people make them out to be. They're providing value. You do work for them, they give you money. Businesses are people too. They struggle in economic downturns such as this just as much as anyone else in America does. But people seem to thing they're evil. Why?

Why are all the businesses in America the concentration of our anger when in fact it's really the government that's devaluing our money?

People are upset with the way things are in this country. That's a good thing. They recognize things are wrong, but they don't look deep enough to see where the root of the problem is. The root of the problem is an oversized government that likes to spend money they don't have. Their way of fixing their money-spending addiction (wars, overseas "interests", etc) is to simply print more of it. That doesn't work.

If you had the most valuable baseball card in the world, and it was the ONLY one in existence, and it was worth $1,000,000 because of it's rarity. You'd be pretty happy, right? Well what if then the government decided it could start re-printing that same baseball card, and just because they were the government, it was to be treated value wise like the single real original card you have.

If the government decided one day that they were going to print 100,000 of those cards, the value of your card would (in 24 hours or less) drop from the 1,000,000 to a simple $10.

I know you have the only real one, and you know you have the only real one, but if you went to a baseball card store to sell it, you couldn't get $1,000,000 for it.

Why?

Because the government more or less printed "Legal Tender" copies of the same card you have. Their fake card is to be regarded in the same value as your card. More cards, less value. Get it?"

Next, my friend's response was: "How about people who have worked hard all their life at a job that will never pay a 3-figure salary. AND they work at that job because that is what God created them to do. Should they be penalized by having to pay an exorbitant percent of their meger income?"

This does bring up some valid points, but my thoughts are summarized in my next comment:

" If you feel God made you to fill your place in a particular job field, then maybe he made you to never make a 3-figure salary. Different strokes for different folks you know.

The governing powers (weather you like it or not) were placed in their spots by the Creator himself. Look it up in the Bible. Romans 13:1."

For those of you without a Bible in front of you at the moment, Romans 13:1 says: "Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."
